Kuzma 4Point Tri-Planar
Dear Lewm, as I am very familiar with the "phenomenon" you describe - in fact I could never do without that 3-dimensional soundstage presentation and have never since the early 1980s - I can assure you that it has nothing to do with wood of any ki...
Kuzma 4Point Tri-Planar
Dear Mikelavigne, since your just delivered Telos already outperforms your Talea 2 on your just delivered NVS, you may give the Graham Phantom II Supreme a vis-a-vis chance versus the Telos on the rear left arm board.
TW-Acustic Raven 10.5 or DaVinci Grandezza??
Dear Halcro, Raul had to favor the Raven by all means. Why ? Simply because I favored the DaVinci ....It always works this way.I for one would NEVER accept a cartridge which needs azimuth adjustment.Cheers,D.
TW-Acustic Raven 10.5 or DaVinci Grandezza??
The tonearm designed to matched the turntable ....? Serious ?If a cartridge has a misplaced stylus - i.e. the need for azimuth alignment to compensate that - give it back to the dealer for full refund or exchange.Every US$80 DJ-cartridge is dead o...
TW-Acustic Raven 10.5 or DaVinci Grandezza??
If you have the choice and if you are looking for value ( especially in the "unlikely event" that you may eventually want to sell the tonearm one day ..) AND performance I would recommend going for the DaVinci Grandezza (10" or 12" if possible). T...
Kuzma 4Point Tri-Planar
Agree with Rockitman - Robert Graham managed to incorporate significant improvements into his design. Each new version builds upon the former and shows small if noticeable improvements. Syntax already has the Graham Phantom II Supreme - I would na...
Kuzma 4Point Tri-Planar
One should watch out not to ascribe sonic signatures of other (cartridge, misalignment, cable and rest of audio chain) components to the tonearm.I have had the 4Point and sold it early 2010 to the USA.It is a good, but not outstanding tonearm.Whil...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Lewm, maybe withholding because it is made by Isamu Ikeda .... ?? Just joking ...
Vibraplane: Should it be loaded close to limit?
Palasr, do get in touch with Solong - he too has some history with leaking Vibraplane tubing/ feet. I'm sure he can give some hints which might spare you part of search/repeated tries.Good luck,D.
A Copernican View of the Turntable System
Dear Thuchan, have fun .... sometimes even old and strange windmills have a charm of their own.Best and fun all the way,D.
A Copernican View of the Turntable System
Dear Nikola, " a few months" is everything starting with 3 ........ this is such an utterly unimportant part of history that I dared not to file it in specific ...;-) ...The important thing was the conclusion drawn - not the specific date on which...
A Copernican View of the Turntable System
Dear Thuchan, I guess you now have got the message I've gotten a few month before. I suppose our conclusion will be very similar.Cheers,D.
Why are modern arms so ugly?
Azimuth adjustment shouldn't be necessary - alas, it often is due to lack of precision in way too many cartridges (and sometimes idiotic platter surfaces with ever so slight slope to ensure better contact of record to platter - kind of jumping out...
Why are modern arms so ugly?
Dear Nikola, may I suggest that you give the Phase Tech a listen in the Triplanar and vice versa the Benz in the Reed.As a matter of fact the Triplanar is better suited to low compliance (although I wouldn't really call the Phase Tech P-3G low in ...
Why are modern arms so ugly?
Dear Nikola, well I am open to new experiences and am learning ..... ;-) ... one sure get's the impression that you and Geoch do know what button to push at the other to get a reaction ...Back to topic: I see - as far as optics go - the Reed as a ...
