Vinyl and slurring S'es
I don't necessarily agree with Bear. There is no "most likely" scenario. Try everything else (VTA, stylus force, cartridge alignment, playing records on someone else's system, etc.) before handing over hard-earned cash. And if it MIGHT be the cable...

Turntable upgrade - worth the effort?
SOTA is indeed back in business. They are here in the Chicago area (formerly in Lemont, IL but now in Worth, IL). You could call them to see about having the table "tuned up," but it is going to cost you a pretty penny dealing directly with them, ...
Linn Ittok Arm Adjustments

The best speaker you ever heard?
I have heard many speakers and keep coming back to my 1980s Cabasse MT type speakers. I think they were the equivalent of the Cabasse Skiff that came out a few years later, but don't know what their equivalent (if any) would be these days. Great d...
Vinyl and slurring S'es
I have noticed this with 180g vinyl discs. The slurred and hissing/rough S's are really annoying (e.g., Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited"). In fact, I hadn't played any for some time. Now, I am wondering if these discs require some modified VTA, styl...
