thoughts on the Madrigal Carnegie One
I was going to try one of these a couple months back. Someone (with little or no feedback) had a NOS for sale at 595. I just happened to catch the post when it was under 10 views. I sent a full price offer email and a system full price offer. I di...
Todays new vinyl LP's better than LP's 40 yrs ago?
As a sidebar to this thread...I've been a big fan of Joe Farrell and love his "OutBack" Lp on CTI. Unfortunately, is has terrible sound. It's very hard in the mids and bumped up in the lower treble. I sourced a Japanese CD reissue and it is much s...

Mcintosh C-2300 first impressions
I would suggest a step up for your cartridge. The classic is the Verion, Google around. This would greatly lower the noise floor of your LOMC.Interesting listening notes on the Mc... My best!Peter
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
Hi Thuchan, great to know the table is breathing and living in your home. I have to ask, what is the belt material? Are you married to the builder's decision here? Does it place any pressure on the platter? What is the relationship to its friction...
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
This is a problem us multi table users face, in fact a bona bona fide dilemma! What to do...what to do...One solution is multiple phono stages and transformers. I went this route fearing though the long interconnect runs to the main preamp (curren...
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
Thuchan,Don't be afraid to move the Continuum and stand from out of the soundstage. In all its eagerness to please its new owner it may want to sing along with the music or at least annoy the singer on the stage between the speakers :)Was that Nor...
When did you ever hear a system sound so life-like
1) late 80s/early 90s- HP's IRS System- huge dynamics, concert hall scale and feel.2) with all modesty on my sleeve... my system last month with a (non mentioned for fear of never getting another pair) mid 90s tube amp driving the MBLs. I never he...

RE: Raul...I was being over sarcastic, sometimes the keys I type and the words I think are two different things. Raul is great and I have learned much from him.The offer stands though. I'll host account the first one. Webinars are great for connec...
TW-Acustic Arm
I must say that the enjoyment factor here is very high. Let's raise it to the next level and have a meet, facetime. You know... Internet cameras, etc. The real deal.I'll host it. A webinar: gratis from moneyrec.com. You have to have a webcam so we...
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
Congrats!!!Now don't get too smitten with it. If upon placing the needle in the groove for the first time and you say that the performer materialized before your very eyes... we may just have to believe you. Just make sure she's beautiful! My best!...
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
This is all very cloak and dagger Thuchan.Did you buy a new Caliburn? Used Caliburn? Peter
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
Raul, yes it sure is a Goldbug. A very vivid but yet accurate and natural cartridge. It's one of the favorites. I have a great love affair with LOMCs from Scantechs to Miyabi's, even certain Koetsus (if loaded properly). Peter
