XLR "Y" Splitter with no cable
I would try Redco Audio.  They have every sort of cable imaginable, and they are of very good, professional quality. Yes, I'm sure PAD can make some for you, but you won't be able to make this month's mortgage payment!     https://www.redco.com/
Who is your favorite tube seller?
The problem with buying tubes is you really don't know how good they are unless you have a tube tester. Most people don't own one. Also, it really depends on what the type of tube you need (some have a reputation!) and how close the equipment requ...
The Cable Company advice?
My experience with TCC was a very positive one. Trying new cables is a crap shoot at best. The only way you can do it reliably at all, in your sytem, is with back-to-back comparisons. The Cable Company's lending library offers the largest selectio...
A cable too perfect?
I've used AZ Absolute copper cables for many years. They are somewhat warm sounding and quite engaging.  I just recently did a cable shootout with 4 sets of $4K cables and 2 sets of $9K cables.  Yes some of them were better than the AZs, but 1 onl...
The Absolute Sound posts a video about a new product development from Magnepan, but...
Oh wow. There’s this system, "Music Transcendent", here in Audiogon. It that has all these mods, and more, done to a pair of 3.6s with subwoofer towers, and has been around for quite a few years. I wonder what it sounds like?
Please help with biasing instructions for The Fourier Sans Pareil OTL mono block amps!?
That's a blast from the past.  If you haven't yet figured this out you might try contacting John Atwood at One Electron out in Nevada Apparently he did some design consulting on these.   https://www.one-electron.com/Contact.html
Audiocyclopedia
That's a great way to describe Audiocyclopedia  "the bible" of all things audio.  It's an invaluable reference, 1750 pages, if you want to know everything about anything audio. You can learn the basics or go into a subject as deep as you want.  M...
Footers- Break In? Such A Change.
So, since I posted previously, I added the CMS TT footers, and upgraded 3 sets of the original CMS 1.0 footers to the 2M.  The CMS turntable footers were installed under a TW Acustic Raven Anniversary replacing the upgraded Black Knight version f...
Question for jcarr...VTF with Lyra Etna on Kuzma 4point 9" arm???
I’m on my second "original" Lyra Etna on my TW Acustic Raven Anniversary on a Triplanar arm. It is a beautiful sounding cartridge. You don’t say anything about how it sounds better to you so it’s hard to know how to help. There could be several s...
Does a turntable mat make any difference?
Absolutely makes a difference to me on my TW Acustic TT, but who knows what it will do for you in your system. My favorite is a SPEC AP-UD1 Turntable Mat. No static, not overdamped, not too thick, and not too heavy.
AN Niobium versus Tantalum resistors?
I recently tried the Audio Note Niobium 1W resistors in my preamp. I put them in the signal path inputs, in place of TX 2575 (naked Vishay Z-foils). I'm a fan of the Z-foils, but using too many is too much of a good thing. Over time, I noticed the...
How serious are you?
Probably 11. Explanation?  Playing with this stuff for 54 years. Look at my "All Out Assault" system Thankfully, I've got what I want. Oh, the CD player has been upgraded....
Magnepan 3.6r
As you can see from my system, it's been awhile since I played with jumpers on my 3.6s. Just about anything is better than the supplied Magnepan metal, U-shaped, parts.   If I understand what you're trying to so, I would use a short length of any...
Ref 6SE. Tube dampers
The Ultra sonic Rx are different than the HAL-Os, but I wouldn't recommend them based on your comment..  Hmmm. One of the reasons is you're using Sovtek 6650WEs and I'm using SED winged "C" and KT-88s in the PSs. I was never fond of the Sovteks w...
Ref 6SE. Tube dampers
I own both an ARC Ref40 and a Ref10Phono.  I switched from the stock silicone (?) tube dampers. Am now using HAL-O IIIs on both the 6H30s and 6550s.  The improvement in presence and reduction of very fine veiling surprised me.  I did this in stage...
