Linlai E 6sn7 tubes
@rocray I haven't had an opportunity to put more than 200 hours on 2 sets of the Elites as I was only burning them for customers to send with their preamps. However, out of all of the Linlai tubes I've tested and used (more extensively were there ...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes
@laaudionut I haven’t tried the Shuguang Treasure 6SL7s yet, but I have tried the PsVane CV-181 (6SN7) TII which are very similar, if not identical to the ’guang Treasure CV-181. I can assuredly state that the Linlai Elite 6SN7s blow the TII 6SN7 ...
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes!
@facten Thanks for the link! I love this, it reminds me of the fiber-optics plant I used to work in 20 years ago, very clean, lots of Hydrogen and lots of glass :-) Seriously though, the plant looks top notch and it appears they have lots of space...
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes!
I would assume (and you know what that does), that WE would make them in house. I mean, there's not really too many options for places to make them- as far as I know. The Psvane plant, the Linlai plant? Seems unlikely.
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes!
It seems there's going to be a massive array of various tubes being requested, and of course I believe it will take considerable time to get the machines, staff, space and resources to probably make 1/4 of the different types, so WE will go with w...
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes!
@facten No worries, I get it. Absolutely, I'm also stoked to help get the word out! I for one would love to see WE producing various Hi-Fi tubes again and becoming a more prominent name as they once were (aside from their 300B claim to fame). At t...
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes!
@tooblue WE never made a 6SN7 tube. The Chinese companies coined the name "Western Electric" for a series of tubes they started making a few years back- PsVane has them as well as Linlai. It's just a name that they picked up after the branding had...

@rocray Very cool- thanks for the link!

@facten Ah. Did not realize there was another thread.
Looking for warm tube preamp (should pair well with Pass power amp), budget $6000
@smodtactical Just to chime in, the Super, ML II and ML XL (balanced version) are all designed for a neutral and fast sound, with enough warmth to smooth out a solid state amplifier and a couple of mods can be made to provide more of a warm sound....
Electro-Harmonix/New Sensor bad news and a saving grace...
@j-wall I know, it's quite the lion's share of brands! When I was trying to think of options to use, each of those brands came to mind until I realized they were all coming from the same Reflektor plant in Russia. Thankfully Linlai is serious abou...
Electro-Harmonix/New Sensor bad news and a saving grace...
@rocray Thanks for the kind words! Indeed, the Linlai tubes are the real deal and sound phenomenal! I've now tried various tubes from them throughout their three tiers (Hi-Fi, DG and Elite) and out of a dozen pairs of tubes consisting of 2A3s, 6SN...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes
@rocray those are absolutely stellar tubes and the feedback you were given on them it spot on! I have a pair myself and they are just as fast and nuanced as any other tube I've tried, and once broken in have incredible body and soul. I've purchase...
Mark Lanegan Has Died
Same here! Such an underrated musician and integral to the grunge movement which was such a huge change in tides when it came out. In addition to Screaming Trees Mark has also sang with Mad Season on some tracks and played with Queens of the Stone...
Improvement of MacBook Air for Streaming Tidal
Hey laaudionut! I would suggest a streamer such as a Lumin D2- which is what I use. It will connect directly to the Motherlode using RCA cables (it also requires a cat5/6 cable to your router) and then you download the Lumin app onto your Macbook....
