Dire Straits has very good sound on most of their albums, and the music is above average for rock. The remastered Tommy by The Who is kick ass rock which now sounds like a modern recording. Best remaster so far, IMHO, of pop music. The first Keb M...
Krell or Pass
Justthis past weekend, I spent a couple hours comparing a Krell FPB300 with an ARC VK100 MkII. The Krell surprised me with its smoothness, and of course its low end was incredible. I never liked Krell, but this amp almost won me over. By the way, ...
Bryston, McCormack, SimAudio or Plinius?
You may have seen my review on audioreview.com of the BP-25, which I believe is one of the smoothest sounding SS pre-amps available. It is open, detailed, with awesome bass and sweet midrange. It is silent and dynamic. It is also a good investment...
Advice for a new hi-fi customer

Preamp suggestion
if you're looking for warm but detailed sound, open and smooth on top with superb bass control, musical midrange, totally silent background, excellent soundstage and pinpoint imaging, try the Bryston BP-25. You might not need to hassle with tubes ...
Interconnect Recommendation
I also intensely disliked kimber interconnects in my system because of their high frequency glare. now I use Van den Hul, which is hard to find, but well worth the search. Very smooth and open on high end, no harshness whatsoever.
