| high end standmounts that do not punish poor recordings? Trenner and Friedl ARTs might be worth a look. Smooth, sweet-sounding speakers that work well with everything I like: classical, jazz, singer-songwriters, '60's and '70's rock. They go lower than the specs suggest, as well, and my amp is a Sugden ... | |
| Speaker Pairing for Sugden A21SE Update: I bought a pair of Trenner and Friedl Art monitors to go with the Sugden. Perfect match. The Arts are supposed to be the best entry into T and F, which doesn't get much press here in the states (they're Austrian). The latest model of the A... | |

| Pass INT-25, split decision and maybe option? Have you considered the Sugden A21 SE? Less expensive than the Pass, but some reviewers prefer it to the INT-25; slightly larger soundstage. I think you'll find a slightly warmer sound, as well. Voices are lovely. | |
| Speaker Pairing for Sugden A21SE Thanks; I've read your comments on the Fritz speakers, and if I remember correctly you loved them but preferred the Salks by a narrow margin. Any thoughts on Devore models, or the ProAc Tablette 10? | |
| Kef LS50s - great like me but need to come up for air Have you heard Buchardt? The S300's are about $1400. | |
| The Most Philosophical Song You Ever Heard 1. The Who, "I'm One." For a 16-year-old struggling with everything 16-year-olds go through, a perfect song. 2. Those great lines from "Under Pressure," including the cry from Freddie, "Why can't we give love/One more chance. . ." Such an old fash... | |
| Economical CD Transport - Thoughts? No experience with the Cambridge, but when I was in the market I did my due research and went with the Audiolab. People who had used both preferred the Audiolab, and I liked the looks better. Got it used for $400, and I couldn't be happier. No pro... | |
| Got a Node 2i, what's next? My Node 2i runs through a Neko Audio D100 MKII; that DAC is available with balanced or unbalanced outs, and I think it's currently available for $1000 (normally $1500). My integrated amp is a Belles Aria, and I use Amazon HD.For what you are looki... | |
| My best retort to those that think we listen to our stereos more than the music @russ69: yes, very good, I laughed out loud. Took me a moment. . . . "Telly" might have gotten me there quicker. But no "My woman loves my crossovers and interconnects" or "My DAC sure keeps her satisfied" jokes? The thread seemed headed in that di... | |
| What is this feature? The Belles Aria integrated amp goes directly to Mute upon turning on. | |
| Jazz listening: Is it about the music? Or is it about the sound? I can lose myself more easily with jazz these days, especially with recordings from ECM and just about everything by Bill Evans (the Complete Village Vanguard sounds brilliant on cd; a great vinyl pressing of the full set would be apocalyptic). Li... | |

| Streamer wanted Love the Bluesound 2i. Works great with Amazon (for me, at least). Connected to a decent DAC and ethernet cable, it sounds very good, even if my cd's and vinyl sound better. But for $549 it's a tremendous bargain. | |
| Some interesting stats from Discogs No, not dumb at all, bjp9738. I think a lot of people do exactly that. I've listened to a lot of music for the first time through my streamer and then hunted it down on cd and vinyl. The streamer sounds great, and I won't get into an argument abou... |
