David_Ten, Good suggestion regarding using the instrument to move forward. Though not suggested to me, that's basically how I picked it up, with Sax players replacing guitarist and off you go.Also the Stern suggestion was nice.

Pryso, they would send you a record a month and if you didn't like it you could send it back, which I never did. I have some awesome and awful records from this time.
