Quad 2905
Hi, soundsrealaudio is correct, but if you have components you’re happy with a Power conditioner isn’t a bad idea. Especially if your utilitiy isn’t very good like here in NY.  I use a Richard Gray, which I’ve seen here on audiogon offered for a d...

Quad 57s with after market power cords
I replaced my 989 stock cords with panga 9's.   Made a difference and didn't break the bank.  You can find them at audio adviser.  Good luck and please post your finds.
Need New MM Cartridge Recommendation
Think about the clear audio virtuoso.  It's a few bucks cheaper than the maestro.   It has a good mix of warmth and dynamics. Buying carts is very tough-good luck.
$16K new/used speaker question?
If you haven't already set your mind consider a new pair of Nola KO/2's for drivers and Quad 2912's, if you're up for an electrostatic.  Great sound, especially with tubes, and you'll save a few bucks to boot.  Good luck and enjoy the search.
TRANSFORMER FOR JAPANESE DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT
This site has a bunch of converters.  One of these combine with a good quality line conditioner (like a Richard Grey 400/600) might be a good solution.  Hope this helps....https://voltage-converter-transformers.com/collections/japan-up-down-voltag...

Hi, first onhwy is correct you should follow up with the seller, then audiogon, and then PayPal- if you used it.  Second, check out this link. It's about esl 63's, but they're very similar to the 2809's.   Don't dismiss the 'giving them a good cou...
Help with "popping" Quad 2805
Hi, first congrats on the quads. Once this issue is all sorted out I'm sure you're going to love them.  I have a set of 989's and they're great.  If you do a web search you'll find plenty of guys that work on them.  One search term that gave back ...
Looking for integrated better than my Rogue Sphinx
I'd recommend any accuphase or luxman. However, they're a bit higher than what you're budgeting. Considering cost, you might want to look into the top line NAD integrated. It's got all the features you mentioned, plus plenty of power. I know a cou...
Integrated Amp With Tone Controls and Tape Inputs
Accuphase and Luxman both have tone controls and tape/record features. Luxman also has a tube based integrated with those features if that's of interest to you. Check out the websites for more details.Good luck
oppo 105d mod or look for a new cd player ?
I think Chayro has a point ... Consider either the EAR Acute 3 or the non-DAC EAR Acute offered here on audiogon. You won't be disappointed in the sound quality of this fine design. No affiliation to either seller. Just a Acute owner who'd like to...
Apartment Drama
Most apartments are made like crap with little insulation, let alone any sound proofing. As folks have pointed out here getting things off the floor will help, but my experience has been that certain types of speakers are just not apartment friend...
