Actually, Mr. Audiofeil, I do live rent free at my uncle & aunt's vacation cottage in the Eastern Caribbean. They were not using it anymore & I take care of their property. It's mile and a half from the beach and five miles from the rain forest. It's along a one way, one lane service road and two of the neighbors are young cops who check out their homes driving the patrol cars at any time day or night.
At first, I was sad the living room was too small to let my Modwright Swans M-1 spread their wings, but Mr. VenHaus--the wannabe--encouraged me stating that I would get great sound regardless. I finally pulled my laser ruler from the toolbox and dialed them in the nearfield. To my surprise, the near field has let my Marantz Esotec class A monoblocks work their magic. Since they're only 30W now I can hear all the microdynamics without room reflections reinforcement. Everything has a purpose. The Modwright Swans will stay near field regardless where I go...
BTW, my work e-mail ends with @dhs.gov.
