Turntable and tonearm match

Is there such a thing? I guess so. How do you match them?

Some tonearms are better "suited" to a particular table design then others.
Where some table designs will hold back the performance of a good tonearm cartridge combination where as other designs are far and away the superior combination.
This is easily demonstrated if you have access to or own more then one table.
Its certainly more obvious with suspended tables such as Linn and Sota, where a heavy arm makes it more difficult to balance out the springs. I'm not so sure why there would be issues with a mass-loaded table, so long as one can set up the pivot to spindle distance correctly.
