Jay's barbecue - disinvited

The barbecue is on and is all very exciting, or I should say was exciting.  We had lots of fun talking about decorations around pool, inviting neighbors who live kind of far away since Jay lives in the middle of a forest. And also about food and local caterers who plan to help.

The mood was celebratory.

It was exciting visiting the most famous listening room in the country, and because I was having trouble containing my excitement I accidentally spilled an entire glass of merlot wine on a new carpet. And earlier I recommended putting a couch along the wall which would've overlapped the acoustic panels and possibly putting a few pieces of furniture in the room since space seems kind of open. It's a really large room. I sensed a mood change.

Was it the wine? Was it my taste in furniture? Was it related to my concern about types of music that that would be played at the barbecue?

It's a mystery. Things did not go well that afternoon and consequently, I will not be invited to the barbecue.

What an amazing journey and I'm sorry I will not be able to visit and experience all the incredibly expensive and wonderful audio components that will be featured. That's OK.  Thank God for you tube.

for those future visitors, please let me know if he was able to get the stain out of the carpet. Maybe now he'll consider buying a couch which will hide the stain.

The comments about not allowing a big screen tv are silly.  The tv is only minimally more reflective than a plain wall.  In either case, cover that surface with something less reflective.

This entire thread is silly.

@abnerjack

Exactly! I always wonder about those really nice rooms designed with great equipment and then they don’t have a flatscreen TV.  I thought jay would use the second room for home theater and quite frankly it’s a mystery what that room’s gonna be about other than storage. Maybe that’s where he parks his truck. Or maybe that’s where he keeps his pool equipment.  Why would anybody want a place with a pool, it’s great the first couple of weeks but then you gotta take care of it and then the damn thing leaks and then you gotta clean it all the time. It’s a major headache.

So now every time I have a glass of wine I think about spilling it so it’s a very cautionary aspect of drinking wine all the time now.  I drink Bordeaux or Cabernet. I can’t stand white wine. can’t stand Beaujolais which is mostly in France they seem to love it.

@emergingsoul - Pools are great.  Even here in Michigan they are fun, especially when it has been over 90 degrees for the entire past week.  You don't even need to put much work into it with the automatic cleaners and skimmers they have now.  Plus, as the final attraction, you can spill an entire glass (or two) of red wine into the pool and never know the difference!
