The Shunyata Research OMEGA-X-Ethernet Cable

@dekay ,

Hey Frank:

In case you didn’t hear - finally got the hood on my Bentley open (didn’t realize that "B" stood for Button).

I thought the "B" stood for Bullsh*t.

so some of us grew up repressed… not comfortable swearing, and they don’t trust their own listening

but they are good at putting other people down based on the experience that they do not trust or believe at face value

Got it

my Mastering Studio is in Los Angeles anyone here who’s coming to Los Angeles? I will be glad to show you how every audio cable and every power cord has a different sound and if you don’t hear it, I’ll actually pay you… So there you go

@brianlucey

These allegations present an unavoidable logical obstacle.

If "every audio cable and every power cord has a different sound" then do you switch between them depending on the genre of music you are mastering? And, do you tell your clients (artists/bands), their producers, executives of major?! record labels this too?!

I'd be worried if I were them. This means consistency in your work is practically impossible because it depends upon which cables you decide to use on a given day.

It’s like a chef cooking with different pots and pans.

Except the truth is, the electronics are doing the heavy lifting, not the cables.

The interconnects are carrying line voltage. This has been well understood since their invention and proliferation in to the audio market in the mid 1960s, when the first transistor amplifiers appeared.

The last 3 feet of cable (a power cord) cannot fundamentally alter the transfer function of electricity inside a competently designed amplifier.

This is an oversimplification of how amplifiers actually work. I wrote it out just for you.

A useful way to think about it:

1. AC from the wall = raw energy delivery.

2. Transformer = voltage conversion.

3. Rectifier = converts alternating current to one-direction current.

4. Capacitors = energy storage and smoothing.

5. Amplifier circuitry = controls that stored energy and shapes it into a larger copy of the music signal.

And... I had asked for some examples of your work and who you worked with. So i can listen to and *perhaps* enjoy some of what you’ve worked on.

It seems you sidestepped that completely. If not, please provide links to a website, a YouTube channel, SoundCloud etc.

I’m always open to listening to new tracks.

And... there is nothing repressed about growing up not swearing.

We’re better off speaking cleanly and professionally irrespective of our environment. There is no social benefit to cursing either. It distances you from others and makes you look immature.
