Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

@dynacohum  I was at both of those Talking Heads shows in Boston. Had a ticket for the first night and "tipped" the doorman to let me in the second night.

So many great performances that I feel the need to break them into categories:

Best Start to Finish "Glad to be Here" Performance: Graham Nash.  The Pageant, St. Louis (2021?)

The Group I Missed because I was Skinny Dipping in a Lake Nearby and Was Distracted:  Led Zeppelin, Texas International Music Festival 1969

The Group That Didn't Suck (and I thought they would): The Sweet, Moondance Jam, Walker Minnesota, 2018

Most Under-appreciated Performance:  Quicksilver Messenger Service (They opened for Three Dog Night).  Kansas City, MO (1970ish)

The Performer that Got the Sound "Right" Every Time:  Joan Jett

I Can't Believe The Guy is THIS Old and Worth THIS Much Money and Still Works His -ss Off!! Paul McCartney.  St. Louis (2020?)

Glad I Got to See Them Before Key Members Started Dying Off: Poco, Wildwood Lodge, Steeleville, MO (2015?)

Best New Unknown" (to me) Band that Blew Me Away:  Santana, Text International Music Festival, 1969

Best Making Sure the Crowd is Having as Much Fun as I Am Performer:  Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Abbey Road on the River Festival, Jeffersonville, IN, -- Last Weekend!!

Other great performers/performances that didn't fit into a particular category:

- The Who

- Janis Joplin

- BB King

- ZZ Top

_Grand Funk (Railroad)

- Kansas

- America

- Little River Band

I have a couple of categories, the first touched my soul.  1971, Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh, The Allman Brothers Band, with Duane Allman killing it shortly before being killed in a wreck with a truck in Macon.  I have been a huge fan aince that night.

Best bargain, Knebworh Park, England.  Van Morrison, John McLaughlin with Vassar Clements and John Luc Ponty, The Doobie Brothers and at 9:00 The Allman Brothers came oit saying we have never been to London before, we are going to play every song we know.  231/2 hours later they said we have one last love song and the the bass line for Whipping Post kicked off.

Leonard Cohen's comeback concert at the London O2 in 2008. I've been to some good ones over the past 57 years, but nothing else comes close. A magical evening.
