Can This Idea Be A Viable Resource

I’ve been thinking about traveling more now that my wife and I are fully retired. Which lead to me to wonder and lament in equal measure about how I miss my sound system when we travel for a lengthly - more than a week - duration. The idea is can us like minded, trusting but willing to accept liability guidelines, folks, create a network of homes we are willing to rent / trade out - with audiophile grade systems we can shop = like we presently do when we plan a vacation? I would love to spend a week or two in a home with a killer rig that I can test drive -

REALLY?  Would you let someone you don't know from a hockey puck fool around with your, presumably, very expensive sound system?  Suppose that vacationing or travelling party happens to be a family with children, small children, maybe a dog or two or more.  I'd like to see or read that liability statement!  Nice idea in concept but totally foolhardy in practice.  I'm with kennyc!  Think portable solution.

I think it is more reasonable to have a site to ask other audiophiles (in areas you will be traveling) to invite you, to meet and hear their system, perhaps new friends for life.

Thanks my fellow audiophiles for helping me think through this germ of an idea. I have a portable set up - Campfire Audi IEM / AQ Dragonfly and it sounds great - that is not what I am talking about. All concerns are real; they require a deeper level of thought - I like the suggestion of pre-arranging a home visit while on holiday for an afternoon of listening.  We were recently in Champagne, France and found ourselves at an amazing wine bar - ATOME - husband and wife owned; she the expert in wine and he, meats & cheese and audio... The experience was outstanding - way more than the "listening bar" - outside of Tokyo, let-down I no longer make the effort to check out. The AOME setting is small, intimate -  where music, food and conversation are all respected and celebrated - like we do at home with friends. We live in wine country, love to cook and entertain and want to expand this dynamic in some capacity while traveling... More thinking needed on the topic... Maybe the idea is a hosting version where we put on listening bar soiree's for traveling audiophiles  - You visit me, I visit you? With curated food, wine and music venues pre-arranged...

I'm with @elliottbnewcombjr on this and anyone who comes into the Orange County, CA area, with a real interest in sound, is welcome to stop by for a listen if they just make arrangements.
