Quietest air conditioners for a listening room for the upcoming hot summer?

Anybody have any suggestions for the quietest best air conditioners for a listening room where one can enjoy the nuances of a good system and not have to turn up the TV too loud? A window unit 14,000 to 18,000 BTUs with a dba of 42 or lower. 24" width by a 17" height. It has to go into a window sleeve. Not allowed to put it another window.

Does anybody know of such a beast? With my current Frigidaire I can't listen to music at all and I have to turn up my TV to super annoyingly loud.

I have an extremely hot city apartment.

A friend who listens to music all the time who has a hot apartment lucked out in that he has a strong quiet air conditioner which is a marvel. The problem is it was installed by his landlord and there is no brand on the front!

Thanks for any thoughts.

Your size restriction and btu load, and low noise is a tough combo as you know.

Do you have 230v?

I would want remote control. The ones with expanding shutters let outside noise in if that is a concern. You can throw the shutters away and have a pro install it with a panel caulked in.

One concept is to pre-cool the space, then lower the fan to minimum or off/on minimum as you listen.

After some listening, room temp rises, put it on high, walk away for a few minutes, return, min or off.

A higher btu unit will pre-cool or re-cool faster, then you get to low fan or off faster.

If true, that is quiet, and it’s 115 volt if that helps.

Clever design, looks like they have isolated the front from the back with that deep slot design, helps keep the noise outside.
