Yes this really did happen.  Bob Carver really is capable of doing stuff like this.  He is also a hell of a nice guy.

I have been a fan of carver due to dad being a physicists. These are super smart people. I pulled out my carver 7 t last night hooked up to jbl 1000 beryllium horns speaker still going strong after all these years. Just recapped my pt 2400 dead silent. Have recapped several 760x great amp. My 7401 is in one of my surround systems recapped again. The sunfire 600 x 2 was reviewed close to krell. Long live bob.hope to meet him some day. Enjoy the music

I still enjoy a pair of Silver Sevent amps in my system.  Been refurbished of course.

I heard the Bob Carver Amazing Line Source speakers a few years ago at Axpona and thought they really were amazing.  Slightly out of my price range at the time, about $18,000, but one of the best sounding at the show.
