McIntosh MI502

Anybody tried the Mcintosh Class D offering? Hypex modules I believe.

The post could fit here as that amp is being sold as a home theater amp. I just got one at the beginning of the year for my 2 18” klipsch subwoofers. The amps are able to feed adequate power to those giant subwoofers allowing for deep bass. My subs are part of the Klipsch behind the screen true theater / cinema speakers. These are the same designs as in the movie theaters but built to fit behind the screen of a home theater. The subs take 500 watts average and 800 watts peak. The MI502 is a perfect match. Not to large either. Saves space on the AV rack.

Alternatively, the PS Stellar amps are on sale right now for less than half price to the McIntosh. 350 watts 8 ohms / 700 watts 4 ohms.

Question about the MI502: How well will it handle a 2ohm load? I have speakers that are 4ohm nominal, but drop to 2ohms at around 45Hz. Love Mac. Love the specs on this amp, but I don't want to blow it up. Any inputs is appreciated.
