They're only $230 at the Cable Company, why don't you try a pair and see what you think. They have a very liberal return policy, so what could you lose?
Chord cables have always fascinated me. I totally thought they were the same company who makes the Hugo and Dave D/A converters, but I was wrong. Never tried them yet but keep meaning to some day. They have one of the biggest spreads of any brand out there with their top Ethernet cable selling for around 50x the price of their budget Ethernet cable.
