Just a few years back into vinyl so I picked up over 200 this year. My brother-in-Law passed last year and he had a collection of over 1000 stored in an unconditioned garage. He drove the countryside in a converted very old Greyhound Bus to dog shows and could not pass up a garage sale. He had multiples of everything Rock and Pop/Bop from the late 50s into the mid 70s. I only chose those that I would play on my LP12. Every Beatles and Stones (multiples of each), most Dylan's including the basement bootleg from the cellar. He had 5 copies of the White Album - only one that was in very good shape. I also purchased about 30 re-issues all on 180g to fill in the gaps.

More than I can count. I estimate approximately 8,000 lps from an estate. Perhaps 2-300 new vinyl albums and perhaps, 500 - 1000 CDs about half from the estate and the rest new. I have culled through most of the CDs and given away perhaps 2-300 of them. The vinyl is more daunting. Most of it is old rock that I have zero interest in, so it is passed on. There is also a lot of opera, which again is of no interest. But just going through it all, cleaning and listening to things, reboxing etc. is taking a lot of time. |
