LAIV Harmony

New company with a new product.  There are several "professional" reviews out there, but not much consumer input here or elsewhere.  Those that have been using now for over a month, what are your thoughts?  What were you using previously and how does it compare?

Hello I am using the Harmony DAC connected to a Mac Mini with Audirvana as a streamer. I just noticed the display never goes off despite the fact that I set up the off delay to 20s. But if I click any button on the remote then it start working as expected and the display goes off… may be a firmware bug? Does anyone have an idea if and how it will be possible to get any firmware update in the future?

many thanks!

@mario69 I had assumed firmware updates were automatic, but good question for Weng Fai @ LAIV.  He is very responsive.

@audiostick since the LAiV DAC is not connected to the internet I doubt it can receive updates autonomously. Good question for Weng Fai ;-)

I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen anyone talk about HQPlayer in this thread.  HQPlayer has added correction settings for Laiv's DACs and it's definitely the single best upgrade I've heard with the Laiv Harmony.

I've since purchased a Holo May KTE for comparison and can say they're very close (but I believe the May is very slightly better if you're using HQPlayer).  That said, I can see why some would prefer the Harmony.

DAC correction support is added to Laiv Micro DAC only, not the Laiv DAC yet at least shown on the HQplayer official website.
