35 year old joy

I just wanted to share the rebuild of my 35 year old pair (bought originally) ARC Classic 120 mono amps.  These 61 lb beasts still sound awesome.  I have a Tech who works for one of the largest Audio Companies and is so kind to help rebuild what I still love so much.  IMG_1216.jpeg

Very nice, I used Mono Blocks for years, mine had manual volume controls, yours are simply ON/OFF. I wanted Remote Volume, and Remote Balance, so I used one of these

New, open box, with remote, that's a good price. You must have the remote, there are no controls on the unit.

It is totally invisible audibly, no one has ever been able to tell if it is in or out of my system.

A slight refinement of balance can make a surprisingly large improvement to imaging on the occasional errant tracks. Once you have remote balance, you will never want to live without it.

@elliottbnewcombjr Thank you for the recommendation.  I am a little old school with a ARC SP9 MK II preamp which was also rebuilt.  I need to put the rest of my system in AGON  to help those like you helping me.  Thank you again as I have seen you make many good recommendations on the forum to many audiophiles.

well, that preamp, you can use one of the tape loops for the optional use of the Remote Line Controller, that is one way to prove it is sonically invisible.
