This can be a freaky hobby. Cables for hi-fi freaks are in the same league as a girlfriends/spouses collection of fashion enhancing handbags and grab bags. The two different collections are essentially the same. Both are classed as glamourising accessories.
One camp for sounding good, the other for looking good. Some hi-fi freaks possibly imagine themselves in both worlds. 🤔 |
Seasons greetings all, Way back in the day I was a Monster Cable guy. But being a diy’er I started fabricating my own cables, especially when I researched the audio cable mark-ups. Over the ensuing years I’ve invested around $2,200.00 in raw cable (Mogami, Furetec, Canare) and the appropriate connectors. Oh, and a few dollars for heat shrink tubing in various sizes, colors. Doing my own has cut my cable cost by at least 60%. |
@hikerneil On 50K wire and business owners and their cable markups…….
