EH6922 gold pins?

I've recently swapped EH Gold Pin 6922's into my CJ Preamp and Amp's front tubes. I'm wondering if anyone has compered EH Gold Pin 6922's or Genelex 6922's which also have gold pins to the standard EH6922's. I'm hearing a difference, but don't know if it's the pins or something else. I'm not saying what I hear because I don't want to color anyone's reply.

If you've compared these or even similar tubes gold pin vs. standard I'd like to hear your results!

I have a collection of EH 6922 and EH 6922 gold pins. I prefer the sound of the gold pins to the regular ones. However, in reviewing my stash I noticed that the gold on the gold pin tubes are flaking off.

Can you say why you prefer the gold pins?

Do you notice if one is more energetic or brighter than the other?

Its been more than 10 years since I did the comparison. The CJ premier 16 and ET5 are long gone but the tube stash still remains. I cant remember the specific differences only that my preferences were: 1) EH 6922 Gold Pin 2) Sylvania JAN 6922 3) EH 6922 4) Sovtek 6922 5) Slovakia E88CC (terrible tube). I never tried the Gold Lion 6922.
