high resolution pc files 24/96 or 24/192 to dvd-a

Can a high resolution pc files 24/96 or 24/192 be simply burnt to dvd-a blank disc and then played on a universal transport player?

If so, isn't this a high quality way to listen to high resolution files?

What am I missing other than the convenience of having a zillion pc files or the effort to burn to dvd-audio.

Would not the advantage be less issues with jitter and other usb spdif related issues?

thanks

Hi,

thanks for the information. I am looking at getting a NAD T585. I am not sure why it would not play a 24/96 audio signal if its a universal player.

By the way,

I had downloaded a free software program called DVD-Audiofile to use to burn dvd-audio.

Anyone heard of it?
