Why do you listen to records?

Do you listen to records for the SQ, or do you just prefer to listen to music through this medium?
I find myself putting records on occasionally, ( I have a large  collection) but I’m not sure if it’s because of their sound.  I certainly have the availability of millions of songs or compositions to listen to by streaming, and the sound quality is just abut the same, and, of course, the variety is endless.

So why listen to records?

6 or 7 out of 10 times, I play a record vs a CD.

Why? Because I am happy with what I hear.

I don't analyze it, just do it.

@rvpiano

 I was merely reporting my experience and posing the question: Why  listen to records?
This was not a COMMENT, but a QUESTION !

I really want to know why people listen to records,  despite all the inherent problems.

Put like that, your question is loaded. It presupposes that vinyl is inferior. There can be no fair and open discussion if we start with minds already made up and positions taken.

I wouldn’t have participated on that basis. It looks like a wind up.

@newton_john

I didn’t intend for this to be a poll on the merits of analog vs. digital. If you took it that way you were mistaken.
And later on in the discussion I mentioned that.

@rvpiano

That is exactly my point. I didn’t take your original question that way at all.

However, what you said yesterday puts an altogether different more negative spin on it.

I really want to know why people listen to records,  despite all the inherent problems.

There was no mention of inherent problems in your original post.
