Auralic out of business?

My apologies if this is old new but I didn't find anything in the forum.  I watched the recent British Audiophile video review of the Lumin U2 Mini and he mentioned that Auralic was no longer "trading" which I take to mean out of business.

Has anyone seen something on this?

I am not going to vouch for the accuracy of the data in this report I Giggled, but is better than the BS numbers bantered around in the last few posts.

To answer the very first reply in this thread from user thesummit. Yes this is the brand behind the Taurus headphone amplifier. Which was very highly regarded back when it came out. I remember Tyll Hertsens of Stereophile and Innerfidelity using it as his reference for a while. Along with the matching Vega DAC which was also very popular with several of the more well known reviewers at various publications. I haven't kept up with the brand since then but at one point they were making some excellent hardware.

With products like the Eversolo T8 I don’t seen how any of the overpriced boutique streamer brands will stay in business.

Between the USA tariffs which caused Auralic to suspend sales in the USA and the economic downturn in China which affected luxury goods sales, Auralic had an eighty percent decline in sales in 2024. Combine that with the founder's retirement and no succession plan and the company is a victim of circumstances. Supposedly their intellectual property is for sale for two million. I agree their abandonment of lower priced products made them less flexible and adaptable to changing markets. Their very active owner forum disappeared from their website, then it eventually reappeared at a new server for a few days. Now the new hosting site disappeared yet again a few days ago.
