I think it's very exciting to have two sound rooms being created that is gonna be filled with the best possible audio gear in the future.  I don't know why he needs 2 sound rooms.  They are really big. It's like he purchased a car wash because it's got huge garage doors on both sides that he is converting.  Maybe the structure was used to house a large semi truck. He's afraid of being sued for construction work and wants to be very careful that everything is being done correctly I guess Texas is very litigious.. Don't they have lots of flooding in Texas maybe he should elevate the structure.  

Is it good to have a cement foundation underneath the sound room?. I'm not sure about the tall ceilings. I hope you find a place for a pool table.

It's not a showroom it's literally two sound rooms.. I love watching creations in process. I don't see a bathroom being installed . I didn't see a sink so maybe they can put a refrigerator in with plenty of hydration while they're listening to Music. I didn't see heating system maybe it doesn't get cold in Texas and HVAC I didn't see. It's a pain in the ass constructing something.

Where is he going to store all his used gear that's on his website.? Is this a commercial business does he need special zoning for this? Is he building a parking lot next to the sound rooms? Maybe he bought a farm and this was used to put large tractors in. The garage doors are massive.  Is he going to continue growing crops on the property?

I saw his videos re the new sound room and honestly, I had to laugh at the one titled "A Mind Blowing Challenge...." where he seems to complain about having to find a TRUE licensed, insured and fully capable contractor for a project he states is going to cost at least 6 figures after not considering the ramifications of not doing so....because as a former building developer/contractor I couldn't help but laugh at a guy who will spend "Ultra High Dollars" on audio gear yet seem to try to build  multiple listening rooms on a budget. 

How do you not ask/be sure ANY contractor is fully qualified to take on such a job without the proper qualifications???

Now, before you all bash me, please know that I have met Jay at FL Audio Expo a few times in recent years - none that I expect he would remember beyond exchanging greetings and my being quiet when I happened to go into a room he was in the process of reviewing - hello Albedo 2024! - and will say he was nice/polite.

But c'mon man. he had to know better than this.

I don't have a problem with Jay personally. We've spoken several times and i have bought from him and sold to him. From my discussions with him and from the discussions others I trust have had with him he really is still a novice when it comes to getting good sound. He might be the last person I would ask about room construction and treatments. He has passion and seems to be a good dude. He is an honest and professional guy to do business with. That is significant in and of itself.

I think anything that promotes audio is a positive  event.keep on going and going to audio shows and interviewing people in the industry.some of us are to busy to do that and have to live through proxy.😃

I’m a big fan of him. I watch his videos and I enjoy them. I think he has very useful things to say about audio. If some people don’t like him or what he does, that’s fine it’s their choice. But he’s obviously not doing anything wrong. It’s just a hobby and he’s making a living from it which is great if you have the talent/skill to do that. I'm looking forward to his videos about building from scratch in Texas. Very exciting
