Eversolo DMP-A6 Overwriting my Tags

Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.

My Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition is overwriting the tags I have put on many of my albums.

The problem seems to be around compilation albums (think like “Greatest Hits of the 60s” and things like that) which I have meticulously labeled as “Various Artists” in the tags.  The Eversolo unit is overwriting these tags and labeling the artist of all these albums as the artist of the first song on the album.

I’m sure there is a setting someplace to not have the Eversolo attempt to label the music but for the life of me I can’t find it.

Anyone know the fix here?  I just want the unit to abide by the tags I have put on all the music.  I have around 5500 albums on the unit’s memory stick so automated solutions are preferred.

Many thanks in advance for any help!

If your Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition is overwriting your music's tags, it is likely a setting in the Music Library scan function. The solution is to change the "Matching mode" to prioritize your local, embedded metadata over external online sources

Step 1: Access Music Library settings

On the Eversolo's touch screen or through the control app, navigate to the main Music Library page. In the upper-right corner of the screen, tap the gear icon to open the library settings menu.

Step 2: Change the matching mode

In the settings menu, locate the "Scan" options.

  1. Find the "Matching mode" setting.
  2. Change this setting to "Use only local data & network data with local data".
  3. This option tells the DMP-A6 to use your existing local file data first and only supplement it with network data when necessary.

Step 3: Prioritize your album art

While in the same "Scan" menu, you can also prevent the device from downloading and overwriting your embedded album art.

  1. Look for the "Priority local image" option.
  2. Make sure this setting is enabled. This ensures that the A6 prioritizes the album art embedded within your music files.

Step 4: Rescan your library

After changing these settings, perform a new scan of your music library.

  1. From the same Music Library settings menu, find the option to update or rebuild your library.
  2. Run the scan to apply the new settings to your collection. The DMP-A6 will now prioritize your existing tag data, preventing it from being overwritten.

G Kelly, you’re so kind to respond…many thanks!

Problem is, I cannot find the Library menu…I go to “Music” and then “Library” and basically all that is there is the folder that my music library is in.  I can order the Library A-Z or Z-A but that’s all that’s there.

This is on the unit’s touchscreen itself or on the app.

Something wrong with my unit?  All the things you mention are things I would expect to find somewhere…but can’t find any of that?

Thanks—
Dan
