In 1965, just as the surfing craze was losing musical interest, the Tradewinds released a catchy little tune entitled "New York's A Lonely Town" about a California youth who's family moved to NYC. The recording itself was pretty crappy, but it had great lyrics and a catchy melody with very Beach Boy-esque harmonies.. It's very seldom played on formats for that era.
Your favorite obscure song
What song in your music inventory do you consider a barely known hidden gem? Like a well kept secret know only to a few that you can listen to over and again.
For me it's 'Roads to Moscow' from Al Stewart's 'Past Present and Future' album.
The music, the lyrics, the story it tells is- to be just slightly hyperbolic- brilliant.
Check it out, especially if your a WW2 history buff.
Thank you for your attention on this matter.😁
