HALO DAC I2S question

I just received my new HALO MAY DAC and in trying to hook it up to my PS Audio Airlen’s I get no sound with the I2S connection. It works fine with a digital cable hook up. The same thing happens with my CD player trying to use the i2s connection. I’m befuddled.

MY first guess is the pin out on your HDMI cable isn't compatible.

So a I2S specific cable would not have the right pins? How do I know what cable to purchase?

The Holo May has multiple I2S settings.  You need to use the correct one.

My guess is that you will get the best results with ALT2 which is the pinout setting compatible with PS Audio.

Suggest trying that.
