Does anyone own Borresen Z2 Cryo Speakers

Hi - I have an opportunity to trade my Raidho X2.6 for a pair of Borresen Z2 Cryo speakers. I would love to hear some input from anyone that owns these speakers. Thanks!

I'll be curious to hear your impressions. Over the last decade I had owned nothing but Raidho's using all Ansuz/ Aavik cabling and electronics. In total, 5 speakers, from the original X1 up to the TD3.2's before I bought my first Borresen...

My 6th Raidho is outstanding.

Hi waorwraith - I have owned 3 pair of Raidho speakers and I have all Ansuz & Axxess accessories and components. I am addicted to the sound and the Borresen seems to be the natural progression. The C3 and a U 188 are what I want eventually, but I will have fun with the Z2 cryo for the time being. I won’t get the Z2 until next week, but I will send you my opinion when I get some time for critical listening. Thanks, Todd

"I am addicted to the sound and the Borresen seems to be the natural progression."

That is absolutely verbatim my reasoning for selling my prized 3.2's

@waorwraith, how do you like the Borresen? I moved from the Raidho X1T to Borresen X2 and went back to Raidho. The Borresen had more bass but the Raidho was better at everything else. I also don’t love bright speakers and I found the Borresen to be too bright for me no matter what gear I paired it with. I tried a dozen amp and preamp combos and couldn’t get it to not be too bright for me on certain songs. The Raidhos never sound too bright.

My excitement for them was quickly diminished after discovering a defective woofer on one of the speakers after they arrived . It took a while to get a replacement woofer delivered and then I had to get someone to install it properly. I never really gave them a chance and decided to sell them to someone local. I ended up buying a pair a Sonus Faber Electa Amator III and I couldn’t be happier at the moment. I also decided to buy a pair of SF Concertino G4 to put in my living room and they are amazing for their size. Raidho will always be on my radar, but I’m enjoying the Sonus Faber ride at the moment.
