INFINITY RS1B SERVO C/OVER FULLPWR OSC. PREVENTION

~~~~WHEN TRYING OUT NEW BASS AMPS AND NOT SURE IF THEY ARE INVERTING OR NON INVERTING:
TO PREVENT FULL POWER OSCILLATION "THE 1000 WATT FART", PLACE A BUSS GLASS 2 OR 3 AMP 1/4 INCH FUSE IN SERIES WITH ONE LEAD ON EACH WOOFER COLUMN. DOESN'T HAVE TO BE FANCY, JUST WRAP SPEAKER WIRE AROUND THE METAL CONTACTS AND TWIST SNUGLY. POWER UP BASS AMP, IF YOUR CROSSOVER SWITCH IS IN THE WRONG POSITION THE FUSES WILL BLOW. SHUT OFF AMP, CHANGE SWITCH POSITION AND PLACE NEW FUSES IN AGAIN, RETRY. IF THEY DON'T BLOW, SHUT DOWN AMPS, REMOVE FUSES FROM LINE AND WIRE DIRECTLY AND ENJOY. IF THEY BLOW IN BOTH POSITIONS YOUR SERVO CROSSOVER IS FAULTY. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT.
sorry I'm an old school draftman/tool and die journeyman. we write in all caps all the time. didn't mean to ire anyone.
so kind of you to point out my error. forgive me. hope you could still read the information.
FBI......thanks for your kind apology. I also have a pair of RS1-B's. Have you done any mods to the active crossover? If so, could you tell me what you did?
Thanks
RWD (Rick)
Hi Rick,
It has been a long time(years)since we spoke last. No mods, still stock. Room placement and listening position gives a vast choice of voices to this system. So easy to lose the entire day listening to these (and forgetting to eat). Check panels and subs with level front to back, side to side(what we call squareallel) to get finer imaging.
