Tekton Double Impacts

Anybody out there heard these??

I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft.  Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs.  For the vast majority of music I love this system.  The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so.  For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer.  Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's.  Really don't want to deal with that approach.

Enter the Double Impacts.  Many interesting things here.  Would certainly have a different set of strengths here.  Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.

I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that.  Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers

Thanks.

TeaJay:

Thank You! I was starting to worry. I listened to but did not buy the DI's. Eric told me these would be much better than even the DI's, so I could not resist. I really thought a lot of the DI's so if these are really significantly better, I am going to be in heaven.

Thanks for the info on the amps. I spent WAY more than I wanted to on these, but I wanted to do the whole Home Theater at once so I bit the bullet. My next step will be amp upgrades, but it will be a while before I pay this stuff off. Could not find anything that sounded better at anything close to the price though.
Vitop,

The DI's will do well with just about any amp tubes or solid state.
They are a very easy load to drive, you just use the amp of your choice and try it.

I only have one tube amp left after many years of using tubes,a Yamamoto A09s which is a 300b.

Here is a list of solid state amps I have used with the DI's

First watt J2
First watt diy push pull sit that uses nos Sony vfets and jfets courtesy of Nelson's gracious diy efforts.
Ncore nc400
Bel canto ref 600m's
Red dragon S-500
Nuprime St-10
Modwright Kwa-100Se
Pass labs Xa-30.8

Everyone of these amps drive the DI's just fine, you just need to decide what sonic presentation you desire.

Best of luck to you,

Kenny.
@teajay : As always, your updates are helpful and I know I'm not the only one who is appreciative and grateful for your ongoing insights vis a vis the Double Impacts.

I heartily emphasize and second what you wrote in reference to the DIs being "truly perfect conduits, you hear every change you make upstream so easily."

Wow... Thanks Kenny. That is quite a list. I should be good to go once I get them then!
