Jussi Björling recommended recording

short version:
recommendation of a Jussi Björling recording please

long version:
on archivmusic I find.. "Performer: Jussi Björling - 128 albums" how do I pick !?

In an interview with Joan Baez, she spoke of listening to him(?) ("Tenor" so I guess, yes, a "him")

I had to finally contact the Swedish Music Society to get a spelling (I had written down 'U.C. Boorling' to myself)

But with 128 recording to chose from, I need a recommendation

Thanks

Hello,

Arguably the best of all recordings of La Boheme - conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham had Bjourling in the lead role. The recording is SPECTACULAR and is The Reference for La Boheme. Get it.....

Also try a single disc recording of Bjorling with Robert Merrell with the first cut from The Pearl Fishers. I believe it is on RCA.

Finally there are many wonderful compilations available.

Enjoy
I agree with the above suggestions but would also strongly recommend Bjorling's performance of Puccini's Turandot. His rendition of "Nessun Dorma" is definitive.
