Why were 291 responses removed about Rap?

I do not care for rap.  It is not music.  I abhor unbridled censorship.  Why were 291 posts systematically removed,  then the post deleted by moderators?   I did have a serious reply, followed by two tamer ones. This is not about me.

Though I agree with cleeds, like you, I do not like censorship. I have called out posters here on A'gon who have called for other members to be removed because they don't like the poster's views.  That said, there have always been a view that certain things should be removed, IE, advertisements, porn, etc. But the gate has been opened wide recently with the calling on censorship because one poster  doesn't agree with another particular POV

Conversely, private entities who own BB's are within their rights to dismiss posts, and whole threads which are causing disruption in the community. This has been the case from 2000 when I came here & AA
@mapman

The old "trash something or some group categorically then accuse others of glorifying it/them" trick. Does not work every time. Very popular in some very prominent circles these days like talk radio but people are catching on.

Did you hear this on MSNBC, CNN, NPR, or from Glen Greenwald’s former paper which removed him because he said something they didn’t agree with? And how much time did you spend actually listening to Rush, Mark, Glenn et al?
FWIW Marx said this : “Accuse Your Enemy Of What You Are Doing, As You Are Doing It To Create Confusion”.

@ozzy62
Is that like Anti-fa calling their opposition "fascists" when they are indeed the fascists themselves?
How DARE you!! The Emperor’s clothes look grand, just like BLM’s co-founder’s $1.4mil mansions she bought in the white neighborhood. I’d love to see her stereo system.

Good rap is art! My best pal was a street poet back in the day and his on the fly lyric ability had us enthralled. No form of expression should be castigated or suppressed. Musically, synthetic bass can be more fun than a tired old vivace cacophony.
I agree it is art. But is it the art of music or the art of rhyme & rhetoric  expressed w/ music in the background? The description is not meant to be derogatory but I can't think of a  better one. Interesting that you note that he was a "street poet" which is what many call themselves.
What I don’t understand is why can’t members keep disruptive posts that don’t answer the OPs question to themselves? For instance, millercarbon’s post above basically smacks of ignorance and preconceived notions and has no relevance to the OPs post.

The question posed by the Op was why 291 posts were removed. MC answered the ? & stated his opinion. It was relevant though maybe you think it distasteful. And that is your opinion. But as Glupson says above, it was not about the music but A’gon’s practices

FWIW I agree that disruptive posts should not occur. But perfection is not achieved in this world
