Why adding a subwoofer was a bad idea

In my 3rd floor office I have a pair of Davone Mojo speakers, which sound great, not with distracting laser like imaging but more like live music. I had a James subwoofer in the closet and thought to add it to the system, given the Davone’s don’t go that low.

The good news was, it really made the Davone speakers come to life, filled out the sound.

The bad news was, the office below me, wasn’t happy. With a sub added to the system, even though I put it on an Audio Acoustic Noise Isolation Platform Pad - all of a sudden the office below could hear the music through the floor and I got complaints.

Whoops!

Yeah, sub bass frequencies will go through anything!   The only thing that may stop it are the concrete floors you find in high rise building.  The bass will still go right through walls (multiple walls!). lol.
