Solti conducts Kodaly - Hary Janos Suite, Tanze aus Galanta. London Philharmonic. Decca German pressing 1969

@spiritofradio

Yep, the pink box. I have better Sibelius collections, but this is the only one I have on vinyl. I’m constantly looking for the Maazel collection with the Wiener Philharmonic on vinyl for a good price. But there are others as well…..

Neeme Jarvi conducts Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor. The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra w/Frans Helmserson cellist. BIS 1983 Swedish pressing.
My Trio has a mono switch. When I installed my mono cart, it bested that set-up easily. I bet Shitt would build you a piece at your request.

Yea, that’s what I was curious about. How much better could I expect with a switch vs waiting and setting up a proper mono table/cart in the future.

I would imagine a mono switch is better than nothing, but then it comes down to cost for that ‘improvement’. Really, $200 ain’t much to tide myself over for a while, but is it worth it. I’m Probably more concerned with adding another device in the chain.

As far as Schiit making one? Interesting thought, but I have my doubts they would. I would probably be better off finding someone who could make one, which I understand can be done for less that $100.
Bach - Cantana No. 80, Helmuth Rilling conducting the Wurttemberg Chamber Orchestra w/Figural Choir of the Stuttgart Memorial Church  &  Motet - “Jesu, Maine Freude”, Wilhelm Gerhard conducting the Stuttgart Bach Orchestra w/the Stuttgart Hymnuschorknaben. VOX, probably early 60’s per the label design.

@uberwaltz

Got the tapes today. Thanks!

Also received another batch of LP’s today from Discogs, so it will be a full listening night, which I need, as I’ve been working like a dog the last couple days.
@tomic601

Brian - you speaker is quite unique w only a quarter million sold to music lovers and audiophiles- the acoustic coupler connects principally with the back wall. I setup and tune about 30 Vandy systems a year. Would love to assist with yours.

Thanks Jim. Primarily I use Richards instructions pretty closely, as best I can per the division of the room, tilt, etc. (Being an architectural designer, I’ve drawn-up my room in CAD with the various recommended division lines/points, etc.). But, I’ve done a lot of experimentation within and outside those boundaries, and a know what? Richards instructions seems to be fairly accurate for good sound. But what really made a nice difference was placing some absorption directly behind the 2CE’s (mine are about 2’-9” off the front wall) but also diffusion on the side walls behind the speakers as well, then more diffusion between the speakers covering my fireplace opening. That made a big difference as well.
Harnoncourt conducts Concentus Musicus Wien. Bach - Violin Concertos on Origional Instruments. Telefunken 1975, German pressing
The Guarneri Quartet w/Pinchas Zukerman - Beethoven Quintet in C, Op 29 & Mendelssohn Quintet in B flat, Op 87. RCA Red Seal 1979
Yo-Yo Ma w/Cleveland Quartet - Schubert Quintet, Op. 163, D. 956. CBS Masterworks 1984
Raymond Leppard conducts Handel - Concerto Grossi Op 3, Alexander’s Feast and Hornpipe overtures + a third ‘bonus’ LP. English Chamber Orchestra. 3 LP box set. Philips, made in Italy 1972, but seems to have been a US release by The Carnegie Hall Selection Committee.

This set is almost mint, and really very nice recordings thus far.
Lamb - Cross Between. WB 1971

A folk leaning band from San Francisco. Acoustic.
Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow. RCA Victor 1967

Not sure the Airplane ever made a better album than this one.
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat. Verve, early 70’s west coast pressing. Exact date unknown per Discogs.

Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman And The Ravens. A&M 1971

Just a wonderful LP
@slaw

Wow! Tom Petty "Long After Dark". Listened to this lp over and over back in the day. No one mentions it now. From the box set.............
Uber just sent me a cassette version of that LP. Good stuff....of course, most all of Tom’s work is. R.I.P.

And speaking of ‘wow’, I had not listened to that Arlo LP in a long long time, and man, very nice indeed. Great SQ.
@noromance

180g RE (RM?) Sounds very clean. I have the Elektra WT and TBH double UK version. I must directly compare the SQ.

That double album set was reissued in the 70’s (1970 & 1976) by Elektra. I don’t believe either was remastered.

Continuing this set this evening. Last night was a wash-out. I finally have given in to the fact that I have to get a new Mac computer for my work. Been using a 2009 Mac Pro for a very long time, and love that old box. Have Frankensteined it to keep it in business over the past few years……But, am finally being forced to upgrade, and have an iMac arriving tomorrow. I’ve been so entrenched with my set-up ‘as-is’, there is a lot of preparation work involved with this new addition. What a pain in the butt.

Got through Symphonies 1-4 a couple nights ago, so getting through 5-7 should be easy to do.

Sir Colin Davis conducts Sibelius - The 7 Symphonies (with Finlandia Op. 26/Der Schwan Von Tuonela Op. 22,2/Tapiola Op. 112). Boston Symphony Orchestra. Philips reissue 5LP box set. unknown release, originally 1977.

@tomic601

Brian K - We have two imac, one dates to 2013 ish….the other maybe 2 years..love em both….

Im sure I’ll like it Jim. Just as in my audio set-up, I’ve preferred separates in my computer work rig, and never liked the restraint the iMac’s seemed to be as an ‘all in one’ solution. I’ll get over it, and accept an integrated computer 😁

Staying with Sibelius….

Paavo Berglund conducts Sibelius - Kullervo & Incidental Music To Strindberg's "Swanwhite". Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra / Helsinki University Mens Choir. Angel 2LP box 1971
