Free - Best of Free
Rolling Stones - Through the Past Darkly (orange vinyl RSD version)
Hall & Oates - Voices. This is one of the more disappointing MFSL releases. I had to send one back because it was super noisy. I could only listen to it for about 30 seconds and had to take it off the turntable. This one doesn't have noise but it's really bright and there's sound sibilance in the vocals.
I was out of town for a few days, doing some catching up...

Golden Earring - Moontan (RSD version)
Queen - News of the World (one of my all-time favorites!)
Journey - Escape (bought it for my girlfriend, not one of my favorite bands)
Tom Petty - Greatest Hits
While we're discussing MFSL, anyone else experiencing quality issues recently? I've had about 3 show up recently with seam splits on the top right corner. Another showed up with a chunk of vinyl in the inner liner, which scratched the heck out of it. For what they charge, you'd think quality control would be important.
All good brother slaw, there's nothing wrong with being passionate! I just didn't want you to think that I was questioning your judgment or your impressions. I appreciate your sharing them.
@slaw Interesting comments about the cars mfsl recordings. I have the debut, Candy-O, and Heartbeat City on mfsl and think they all sound great. I just ordered Shake it Up today. If it’s better than the others that will be awesome.
Last night it was The Bends by Radiohead.  Hopefully I'll be able to get more listening in tonight.
@slaw I have multiple copies of all three of those albums.  I'm not sure if any were first pressings. I have not taken the time to listen to them back-to-back compared to the mfsl versions.  Those are three of my favorite records, so I may not have Listened as closely for sound quality, but nothing offensive ever jumped out at me.

My goal is to enjoy the music. When I start dissecting it, it takes some of the enjoyment away. However when obvious flaws in the sound quality present themselves that also takes away from the enjoyment.

I'm not questioning your assessment of those records by the way. When I say they sounded great to me that doesn't invalidate your impression of them in any way.
Hall & Oates - Rock 'N Soul Part 1.  I dropped it last night when I was putting it away and the record slid along the side of my coffee table.  It left a nasty skid mark.  I'm playing it again right now to see if it damaged it.
I'm sure the Ramones resonated a lot more with me when I was a fifteen-year-old kid than they do now, but they still sound great! Rocket to Russia is probably their best and a great place to start if you decide to check them out.
That Tom Petty "Masterphile" recording turned out to be a bit of a bust.  At first it seemed really detailed, but after listening a bit it just seemed a bit bright and tipped up.  I played the old standard pressing I had and it had a lot more bass and midrange presence and sounded much better overall.  But hey, if there's any saving grace, it seems to be a somewhat rare collectible item.

Listening to Miles this morning - Kind of Blue.
@slaw I love Montrose!  The S/T will always be my favorite, but Paper Money is no slouch.  Moving on to Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies.  I "downgraded" my 2nd table to a Shure V15 IV cart with a Jico SAS and have been playing some of my less than perfect records while I'm puttering around the house.  The Shure is sounding really good and these less than perfect records play pretty quiet.
Well, my power went out part way through Communique and after it was restored one of my power conditioners goes into fault mode.  Argh.

I love putting on Frampton Comes Alive from time to time.  I think there are better live albums for sure and I get that like anything super popular there will be detractors.  I saw Frampton a year or two ago and it was one of the better shows I've been to.  It was at a casino in a smaller venue and he was very funny and engaging, with lots of great stories.  And he played quite well.
