The VTF dial on my EKOS appears to be stuck


I recently purchased a used Ekos arm(no instructions), unfortuneatly I cannot turn the VTF dial it appears stuck. Am I missing something or what can cause this to happen?

VTF is controlled by a precision spring. It may be defeated or broken. Go to linn.co.uk and find the product. There is a data sheet for download. For what it's worth, if you have a stylus force gauge you can set VTF by way of the counterweight.

Linn probably won't sell you any replacement parts directly and likely would want you to send the arm in for repair at a fairly high price. If you don't have any recourse with the seller I would simply use the counterweight as I described above. Besides, the scale is just in the ballpark anyway.
