Resolution audio cantata mc 2.0 Upnp streaming quality?

I have a Linn Klimax ds/1 Renew and would like to try a 2nd hand cantata as alternative.
Does the upnp Streaming work well via a nas?
Can the Ethernet Input be bettered by something like a Auralic Aries via AES? ( I have read that the usb input is just mediocre)
Is the preamp analogue or digital?

what are the differences version 1.0 vs 2.0 ?
