refurbished NAD M5 vs new SCD-XA5400ES

Roughly the same price for the 2 options, any views on what should sound better?
(Our friend dave_b probably prefers the sony ;-) but any other views?)
PS: I am only intersted in 2 channel.

I was wondering if the Sony just had some new technology that makes it better sounding just cause its newer. Eg. it has the Dual R-Core Power Transformers which I have no clue what they are!!!
