Music Hall USB-1 Turntable Ground cable

I am getting this turntable for my sister for x-mas and they have an old Kenwood receiver from the 70's and was wondering if you could run it into its own phono stage? If so how do you deal with grounding issues? From what I see online Music Hall just supplies a regular pair of basic RCA patch chords with no ground shield wire.
