MCD7000 outputs fixed or variable?

Just wondering if there is a prefered way to run outputs out of a Mcintosh mcd7000 cd player. Thanks.

I have used an MCD7000 for 10 years from 1984 to 1994. Tried both variable and fixed output. Variable output adds a certain amount of haze to the sound. I suggest you get a good linestage for your MCD7000.
