kenwood KF 8011, de noiser, info needed

Good Day,

Just bought an audio de noiser, model kenwood kf 8011.

I plug it between my turntable and my amp, it's improved the sound.

Question:

beside the nice VU, i don't know the purpuss of this thing, is it a crossover?

What else could i do with it?

Any info is welcome
