Kit speakers are a better idea than full blown DIY, but they are almost impossible to sell for a decent price and the cabinet finish quality is almost always inferior. Salk Sound and Joseph Audio are basically assembled kit speakers, but done professionally and they have a good resell value.

How can Wilson Speaker sound that good if they are using OEM drivers made of last century materials? B&W used Kevlar and now Continuum, after a lot of R&D. Magico uses Graphane which is the new Carbon Fiber.
