How are VTL's power amp ?

just wondering how do the 100-200 watter VTLs compare to the likes of CJ, AR in that power range ?
CJ can be described as romantic sounding, while AR's are very detailed, solid state sounding. How's the VTLs sound ?

And none of them sounded like Tubes to my ear. Once you listen to VTL you really look at ARC alot differently. Not that they are bad, just much closer to a transistor amp/preamp tonality than a VTL reproduces. For my ear, its VTL all the way, and the only thing I have heard that is more musical is Shindo. The buck stops there for tubes IMO.
