High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz

In December 2011,I wrote that High Fidelity cables led by cable designer Rick Schultz was putting together a new cable. The cable came to market as CT-1.The CT-1 has FINALLY made it into my system!I had obtained a version of the prototype that Rick had been working on.It blew my previous reference Genesis by Virtual Dynamics.I thought I had finally found my end with this cable. This prototype delivered to my ears "Nirvana".Could I be at the end of my quest for the ultimate sound?
No. I received two pairs of CT-1 to replace my prototypes. They went into the system this past Friday.Unable to dedicate time until Sunday listening,I stole a few moments, ducking away from company with anticipation. My guest could tell even with the music set for"ambiance"something was intriguing and I was in for a treat!
The experience:
First off,CT-1 was very user friendly.Installation was simple;the cable is very nice and light. The female RCA fit beautifully unlike any I had found in other cable. It was secure and reliable. It seemed much thought was dedicated to developing a designer fit to an aesthetically stunning RCA connector.Install entailed a few wiggles to ensure what seemed like a compression fit on my RCA.
It was 2-3 hrs. for the 1st step of break in to be complete. At that point I had something different!Today, although they only have 10-12 hrs. on them,I can`t put into words how much my system has transformed.Believe me,I loved my prototypes.However....there is simply no comparision.
The clarity and sound is so natural.
The soundstage is like nothing I ever heard.Resoulution is breathtaking and inner detail is simply hard to believe possible.
The sound has transended and now it simply does not seem as thought I have speakers.
My system is musicians playing music.
I am told with time they will improve and I trust that as it was revealed with the prototypes.I wanted to share my thoughts with you that now.
Unequivocally,a testament to High Fidelity,as the name declares.
High Fidelity Cables for me,the last word on it,after 12 hours!
Truly Amazing

@tbg@ddraudt hey fellas. I got to hear the raidho d5 this week on soulutions gear. It was a very expensive system but had amazing sound. I was impressed. How have yall been. I'm in the middle of a system rebuil right now so I'm down for a little while. I went to listen to the kr audio 900 on the gato fm6 speakers and we wereusing my resonessence mirus dac tonight. We listened from 4:30 to 11:30 tonight. We listened to bb king and eric Clapton, tyoushi yammamto(jazz pianist), cecile salvant, lightenin Hopkins. It was an amazing session. 7 hours of audio joy. That's what the hobby is supposed to be about. Great enjoyable sound. Some people want to turn it into a science project. Most of us care about how it sounds we don't care how it happens. We just need great sound to happen. Happy listening everyone.

@ddraudt. You are so correct. I'm can be scientifically challenged at times. I understand a lot if it. I just see a lot of banter about the stuff that to me doesn't matter as much as the sound and the music. Sometimes people ask questions that they really want answers on. Sometimes there is not an honest attempt to understand. I hear more music through the high fidelity. I'm going to go back to listen to the system that I heard the other day and I will substitute a high fidelity ultimate interconnect in. It gives the music more openness and transparency. I will see when I go back to that guys house to listen again.
Fplanner2000@ketchum. Be patient with them. I learned that while I demo them. The longer they stay in the better they sound. They start to work together better that way. Be patient with the powercords as well. It takes time to break them all in. They sound better after they been in your system a little and get better and better. Welcome fellas and enjoy your systems I am looking forward to your thoughts and impressions.
@fplanner2000, ok. What kind of difference did the ultimate reference make for you. What kind of equipment are you running?
@jazzonthehudson. On audiolabryinth I agree. However, magnetism does work. The power cords from high Fidelity DO make a difference. His products are faster than all the other cables I have. The noise floor is low and I hear more of the music in the notes with silence between them. The on percussion and cymbal work the speed and decay is phenomenal. His power cable the high fidelity ultimate reference is the best I have ever. They are expensive but the best I have I heard so far. At least I'm commenting on stuff I have heard . lol
@jazzonthehudson. I apologize I quit posting for a while. I overlooked the fact that you already had them. I have an ultimate as well I'm going to eventually get the power cord in my system. I guess reading that post about what someone who was actually there saw kind of got me out of sorts. I can't believe someone who didn't go would say what was there over someone who actually went!!! @audiolabryinth I am not attacking you but I think a line was clearly crossed on the RMAF post. I quit posting a lot because I didn't want folks to think I was doing what you do on tara labs. I don't discredit other cables I just think high fidelity is special and unique. However there are other good cables out there. I just comment on what I have heard. High fidelity is innovative to me compared to the others I've heard.
@fluffers. I was told to leave them in the system to let the magnetism flow constantly and don't pull them out. A lot of audiophiles want to constantly change, change and change. Get them in and leave them in to settle. I used to do too much of the a&b comparisons. These cables work together better when they settle into your components as well.
@tbg@ddraudt@lak@jazzonthehudson@fplanner2000. I heard the tara labs grandmaster evolution and they were just ok I was not really impressed. Nice sound but I wasn't blown away.
@ddraudt. I don't want to slam the cable or cost that person any insult. We will just say that they have a great system and I would love to hear high fidelity on it to make the music flow out of it.
I really don't compare other cables to the high fidelity stuff that I hear. It's almost like a different medium when I hear high fidelity as opposed to the other stuff that's out there. I guess when you hear something great and the technology is truly different it intrigues you one one hand and excites the ears on another. I go listen to systems all the time and I have heard three great ones this past week that sound completely opposite. One was more live natural and detailed with great speed and prat. The other one was organic with soundstage that filled the room and was totally rich as possible. The owners of the systems like their systems their way. I enjoyed both of these mega buck systems and could listen to both all day. They are two of the best I've heard at the cost no object price points. The other system was smaller and a mix of the two. It was one of the best sub 50,000 systems I have ever heard. There are different ways to get where you want to be. Wish me luck fellas my system will now rise like the returning Phoenix. I hope I put it together right and well. Under construction!!!! I will use high fidelity cabling in it because it seemed to work in so many different applications I have heard and tried. Here I go again.
@tbg. I actually have been moving away from my affinity for too much texture and warmth. I think it a matter of the kind of tube equipment it is and the system synergy. For example the veloce equipment with the high fidelity ultimate reference was just amazing. It hard to describe in words but I think you can have richness, texture and a slight amount of warmth and weight. Another example is my friends system who has the kr audio with Gato speakers and Resonessence invicta Dac. We switched some high fidelity in his system and it sounded great. It had no loss of detail. It had a low noise floor but it had just the right amount of weight and texture. I think it gets to a point where small personal preferences play a part. There is a way to get the realism you seek at the same time have the music sound good. You don't have to sacrifice one to have the other. That's just my personal opinion. However, tbg you probably have heard demoed and tried a lot more gear than I have. I definitely know you have a vast amount of experience in this hobby from your ownership and or reviewing of equipment.
@tbg. Thanks that's what this forum is about. Sharing what we like as well as our experiences with cables, equipment and tweaks. We also get to share our preferences in what we like to hear.
The revel studio 2 will be set up and ready to be fired up tomorrow. I will be using high fidelity cables on them. Integrated amp or amp, pre amp combo TBD. Gonna finish this up and just enjoy the music.
Speakers are up. All my other cables are sold high fidelity interconnect will be ready friday or Monday. High fidelity has won out over all the other cables I've ever heard. I can't wait. I'm really excited. I'm gonna start with ic then get the power cord on down the line. Rebuild in progress.
Got high fidelity ultimates in again with KST 150 and manley shrimp on the revel studio 2 it sounded great. I'm rethinking my decision to go with an integrated amp. Thinking of doing amp and pre amp again. Studio 2 are starting to open up a little. Got about 30 hours on them.
Ok fellas I need your help. Need an integrated or separates with a lot of power and darker more full bodied tone. Help. I got my speakers, cables, and DAC in place. Need suggestions. I have revel studio 2. They need a lot of power.
Ultimate interconnect and ultimate power cord are now in the system. Together the are creating speed, separation, detail and sweet highs with no glare. Excellent air and space
@ Ketchum I think they are around 86db. I have a huge room and the shape of it is extremely odd. I can only put my speakers about 7 to 8 and a half feet apart. The revels are known for performing better with huge amounts of current and power. @audiolabyrinth. Krell is known for being a little bright. I get ear fatigue easy. The others I have never heard in person. I will look into it. @lak, jazzonthehudson, tbg, Ddraudt and the rest of the high fidelity owners. Keep enjoying the high fidelity. I got my interconnects and power cord that I will be using for a long time whatever I get is going to fit with the high fidelity. Not the other way around. Lol.
Yes they are getting hours in. I'm trying to let them burning in. Unfortunately because my odd shaped room I can't place them anywhere else. I have vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and open bar are and a hallway not to far from listening area. Takes a special way to get this room anywhere near right.
@ketchum I always use the bananas. They seem to work the best for me. I think in my estimation based on what I've learned about the technology that the bananas would be best. The Spades will work as well. I'm going to try a lot of things. I'm just hoping to find a match. I will I am determined to. It's going to have to work with my highfidelity ultimate interconnects and power cord. The magnetism is moving the sound in a clear concise fashion with prat(Pace Rythym And Timing) that has not been matched in anything I have tried so far. I'm really excited about what I can try to do next. Happy about my speakers and cables. I just have to do the rest. Happy listening. @audiolabryinth. Hey if you like the Tara labs enjoy them. Diffrent strokes for different folks. I just feel feel like the high fidelity does something special for my tastes. Good look and be careful. Scams are a dime a dozen. @tbg, jazzonthehudson, lak, DDraudt and anyone else I forgot. Stay on the mothership. That's Bootsy Collins talking. Lol. @tbg during the holiday season I'm going to get down your way. I'm trying to take some time off to road trip to listen audio. How is it all sounding fellas. I'm going to be trying stuff and reporting out on the thread. Happy listening.
@tbg. The End of the year I can take some time off to get your way. I'm excited to hear your gear. I will get your way soon. Thanks for the invite. I always love to hear great set ups.
Yes and I'm keeping it. Great source I went to listen with my friend Robert spence today. He was the one who told me about it. Glad he did. Donnie Hathaway is who we listened to today. Was a great session. He is a very knowledgable guy. Sound tweaks etc.
I meant to say sdxc cards. I use those to store music on and play on the invicta Mirus. I am demoing a nu vista 800 musical fidelity integrated on my ultima studio 2 right now. I also will be trying an arc ref3 and manley tube Monoblocks soon. I'm using high fidelity ultimate interconnect and power cord.
@audiolabryinth@lak. It's been a crazy audio ride for me. I'm gonna just listen for a while. I want to calm relaxed and not exhausted. I got a pretty good sound. I'm going to put the lab coat down and just listen for a while. I'm trying to not take my cables out that much. It disturbs the the settling in of my high fidelity stuff. I will experiment a little less now.
@everyone. Keep up the passion for everything that brings your ears joy. I recently got an ultimate power cord to go with the ultimate interconnect. It is bringing my music alive even more. This is the one I settled on after an exhaustive search that had me try cables from large companies and small. I tried cables from all over. I decided on this one. I am glad that people here on this thread have shared all of their views and impressions. There are times where we have all gotten sideways with each other but all is forgotten and forgiven. It all about making more music enjoyment. This brand has done the best job for my ears so far. It's going to get better and better. I have truly enjoyed all the passion that everyone has for going for the highest fidelity in sound quality. Whether you like high fidelity or not. It's been good to hear the honest opinions of those who tried them. I have had a great year listening and looking at this blog. @audiolabryinth. Welcome back. Lol.
If you are new to the high fidelity stuff make sure that you allow for break in. It is real. The longer you allow the cables to settle in the change and sound better.
@everyone. I decided to listen to the Nu vista 800. It is great integrated if you need a one box solution. It has gobs of power and the nu vista tubes. It performed extremely well in my system. I just decided to stay with separates. I now have the audio research reference 3 preamplifier and I'm running it with the kst150 using high fidelity ultimate interconnects a long with the high fidelity ultimate power. The cables are giving amazing transparency and great prat. High fidelity is the cable brand I have stayed with the longest and it's probably going to be set of cables. It is going to be in my system for a very long time.
You are so right. I'm glad that I'm this way. We should all accept it and enjoy the way we are. I'm listened to david kikowski and eric revis and jeff waites earlier this afternoon. The song is called grey areas. It is a great song and great album. I'm going to enjoy my music. It's our medication. Lol.
@everyone. We are all audio crazy when it comes down to it but nothing sounds as good as audio been played in the highest quality in your system. I got the ultimate comment the other night I got a phone call and someone said to me "Sounds like you are at a jazz club" as I answered.
@siddh. I think you need to keep listening for a while I have lived with each of the high fidelity from the ct1 all the way to the up to the ultimate reference for about 3 to 5 months each for the last 16months. Break in is real. I know. There were times where I had to be patient. As time went on the sound would change but the longer they are in then you will start to get the things you say you are missing now. I've been known to be one of the most impatient people when it came to cables and audio. I had to understand that quick or short term demos and changes were not the way to get the best out of your system. As far as high fidelity is concerned it is the one I have stayed with the longest because it has delivered the most satisfying sound. I had to really slow my self down so that I can get the best out of my system. I will tell you to listen another 2 or 3 months to see if you hear changes in your sound again before you bail out. I have been patient with the high fidelity stuff and I have been rewarded with great sound in the end.
Sorry about the typos. The iPad has a mind of its own. Also I made a few mistakes in a few mistakes in the last post. High fidelity is not actually a cable per SE. It uses a whole different technology to move sound from a to b. I was more interested in hearing the scientific part and learning what made it different from an actual cable. The magnets assist in moving sound basically in a way that regular normal cables just don't do. It's just clearer and faster way of moving sound without the normal distortion you get when using wire and other materials. That's what I've learned so far. I'm not a science guy but the performance in my system has been amazing.
That's exactly what I'm doing. No more a to b quick comparisons. I have a lot to report on because I have been leaving things in over a period of time. I think that people that do that quick a to b stuff are really missing out on great sound. Especially with high fidelity stuff. 5 months ago I started a system rebuild. I sold everything. I started over completely. I got an ultimate power cord and ultimate interconnects from High fidelity. I got the revel studio 2 speakers. I have the audio research reference 3 preamplifier. I have the kst 150 amplifĂer. I have the Resonessence invicta dac. I let in run run for some days and I was concerned about my interconnects. I called Rick schultz and he told me not to panic and continue to play my system then after a week of repeated playback. It's started to open up. Then it just got better and better and better. I didn't go outside that weekend and I couldn't stop listening. A smile came over my face. My speech pattern sped up. The Jazz I was playing had my eyeballs jumping from left to right. The beat hit me and I was zoning out. I was in that place I have been chasing for 6 years. It's the best sound I have heard so far ever in my system. I will never be a fan of quick a to b ever again. My patience for audio has improved. @ddraudt. You are so right. I had to break the bad pulling the plug habit and leg the music marinate. I had to let the equipment get to know each other. It's like turning on the green water house in the yard and letting it run before you start drinking. You have to try multiple different albums and test materials over an extended period if time to know what your system is doing. All I know is that I was enjoying it like never before. I think high fidelity is like a component upgrade because it just gives the music a free and uncluttered flow. It's music free and clear without the blockage of traditional cable technology. I'm understanding the science more. Hear more music by preventing the the blockage of traditional cabling and lowering distortion as much as you possibly can. It makes sense to my eyes and more importantly to my ears.
@ddraudt I will continue to go through my collection I think I can pull a few more out of my hat. Lol. Keep enjoying. I'm glad that high fidelity uses a different approach than the typical speaker wires. Magnets make great music. I think that contributes to the speed that we get.
@fplanner2000. That is so right!!!!! I used to put them in and expect everything to work automatically. Patience as an audiophile is the hardest thing to do. It's something that I still struggle with. The high fidelity stuff has rewarded my patience. I just get to listen now that I know my system will perform and give me pleasing, open and natural sound. I'm going to listen a lot tomorrow hopefully. Lol. Enjoy your system. @tbg. How have you been. how are things. @lak how are you?@jazzonthehudson How are things. @ddraudt. This process has been a long and expensive process but worth it.
@ddraudt. How is it all sounding. I'm really impressed with the performance of my system right now. I got a couple of hours in today. I got to let it settle back in. I let a friend check my Dac out so I'm going to leave everything in place for the next two months without ever touching my cables under any circumstances. I'm happy that I got the high fidelity stuff. That along with the assistance that I got from Rick Schultz has been a Godsend. It's really help take me to another level I'd satisfaction and enjoyment in my system.
@tbg. How is your system. Any changes lately? @ddruadt I'm going to do a little at a time I'm going to definitely be improving things in other areas.@audiolabryinth keep plugging along and enjoy the ride.
@everyone I'm enjoying the high fidelity stuff. I compared it against some other stuff today and the speed and prat was just out of this world my eyeballs went from speaker to speaker from what was being played on the piano and percussion sections. My interconnect and power cable ain't ever going nowhere. Happy!!! Happy!!!. After a long day or week it's a joy. @tbg @ddraught@lak @fplanner2000 how long have you been using the high fidelity stuff and what was the difference from your previous cables and Ic.
@gfroman that I agree with you on. The mad scientist is more fitting. Lol. He is always looking to make his products better. Almost in an obsessive way. That's what I like about him and high fidelity. He is pushing the envelope more and more in terms of creating better sound. I was listening to my system last night to 4am. Eyeballs red from lack of sleep. I kept wanting to listen. Lol.
Ok fellas, here we go again. People want to steal your ear joy!!! Don't let them steal it. The best compliment you can get is the challenge that comes next. All I know is that I tried to take the high fidelity out and out other cables in and I just can't listen without them. Well when you patent something and it's sounds great and it does things differently. It's actually not a cable. Look at the website and the video. At the end if the day does it sound good? I give a resounding yes. Different science with amazing sound. That's what these companies should be aiming to give you. I got a high fidelity power cord and interconnect in my system now with my arc ref3 on my revel studio2 and I am getting mind blowing sound. After a long stressful day as a lawyer this sound is the thing that relaxes me. It allows me to slip away into another place. I close my eyes and I'm at the concert and all of the musicians are right in front of me. I always ask myself did I get into this hobby for the music. I did. I watch people go back and forward about this and that. I watch people talk about why cables, equipment, speakers etc. are all overpriced and how they sell us a mirage. Well there are a lot of hard working people in this industry and they spend time developing products that we buy. I will make it simple for you. If you didn't like the sound you wouldn't buy them. Audiophiles want the best sound possible. If you like what you hear trust your ears and go for it. I see comments on technology arguments all the time. Different way of providing the sound(check) sounds great(check). It's all about what you want and how important what you want is to you. Enjoy everyone. I live this hobby all the way down to low end to the high end. Try the high fidelity stuff for yourself. Don't let anyone tell you what it's worth. Happy listening
@jmcgrogan2. Nice observation. Wowww. I guess it's like that. I knew it had to be something when there was no comment about the sound at all. I guess some people have to vent. I've dealt with Rick Schultz and high fidelity on a number of occasions. Always satisfying and courteous towards me and those that I know. I see how this hobby can be I got mad at a CD player maker 4 years ago and I finally let it go this year. Lol.
People doubt it but either haven't heard it or don't want to hear it. Maybe it's not about what they hear. If it isn't about what they have heard I don't want to hear it. Lol.
