Fostex CR200 vs. CR300 recorder

I need help - my friend wants to buy a Fostex CR200 CD recorder through his friend who lives in Europe. His friend says the CR200 recorder is not available anywhere but he can only buy a CR300 through e-bay, which he won or nearly won.

My friend had the former recorder on loan and now he asks whether the CR300 recorder is as good as the CR200 and what is the difference between the two ? Also, what is the original price and the going price of the two recorders in USD?

I will appreciate all opinions and recommendations.
