Yours is a controversial topic, but my opinion is that you need footers when you can actually hear a difference. In my system, they aren't much use, but I heard equipment over the last few days that was so revealing that any flaw whatsoever was exposed. The short answer, in my opinion, is that it depends. That's not much help I'm afraid, but that's how I see it.
